HORNELL ALFRED UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SOCIETY

(HAUUS)

NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2012

PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGES! HAUUS will meet the 2nd and 3rdSundays in both November and December because of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

HAUUS meets at 10:30, at 198 Main Street, Hornell, across from the Hornell Cinema. All are welcome.

November 11 Itinerant lay minister, Homer Wilkins, will be joining us for a UU version of Doing the Right Thing.” “As I listened to a college commencement address by a top government official entitled “Do the Right Thing,” I kept asking myself, “What would a committed UU do with this topic?” How would such a UU message differ from what the speaker was saying? This sermon is an attempt to answer that question, and also to stimulate thinking and discussion on the topic. The writings of Henry Lakoff provide valuable insight into the issues involved.

November 18—“The Thanksgiving Table” will be presented by the Rev. George Smith.

December 9—“Zoroaster, the Three Wise Men and Universalism for the Ages”. Our speaker will be the Rev Tim Bancroft.

December 23—“The Festival of Lights,” our annual holiday celebration, will be led by George Smith.
