April 14 – “Body Language, Creativity, and Human Relationships”: Choreography is creative communication with the body as a tool. By strengthening our awareness to the inner workings and outer manifestations of the human body in space, we are able to relate to other people using a shared vocabulary that is both fundamental and essential. Join us as Julie Verdone; an art student at Alfred University shares her artistic insights with us.
April 28 – The Many Faces of Dying – The work and learning experiences encountered while volunteering at the Hart Comfort House of Allegany County. This program will be led by Sally Hopkins
May 12 – Celebrate Mother’s Day with your thoughts, poems or a reading in honor of our mothers and motherhood. Please bring something to read or share for this program. Afterwards we will have our annual meeting.
May 26 – The All Transforming Love – Four Paths, Skillful Means and Prophetic Echoes for the 21st Century; Tim Bancroft will survey examples of leading Universalists who advocated the wisdom of the four paths of earth-centered spirituality. Then, looking at how Universalism waned, consideration will be given to how turning away from practical applications undermined the Universalist effort, and how refocusing our attention on the practical can open new possibilities. While summarizing a hopeful Universalist future Tim will examine how as the plea for universal love can be transformed into the practice of justice in our time.
June 9 – The Flower Communion has become an annual UU event. It began in Prague Czechoslovakia before World War II. We will celebrate by talking with each other about what our UU Fellowship means to each of us. Please bring flowers to share.
The June 23 program will be at the home of Sharon Saker and George Smith
Outdoors weather permitting.
10205 St. Rt. 53 – Prattsburgh NY call 522-7803 for directions if needed
June 23 – Seasons of Change – Becoming more in tune with the seasons allows us to be more in touch with our physical and emotional natural rhythms. Learn more about the seasons as lived in the ancient Celtic and Pagan culture of the cross quarter days or fire festivals. Gain more insight into the meaning of the lesser holidays of the Lunar cycle. All are welcome to stay after this program and social time to participate in a drumming circle. Bring a drum or other instrument if you have one. We have several instruments that can be used.
