March-April 2015

HAUUS meets at 10:30AM, at 198 Main Street in Hornell NY. All are welcome. For more information call (607) 698-4508 or (607) 522-7803 or visit our blog HAUUS.org.

March 8 –  Barren Christianity – Much of Christianity can be seen as a barren, empty religion stuck in self survival and yet at its’ very depths are the possibilities to meet the current crisis of the environment, human relationships and so much more. We will search the words of a 1st century Jew seeking help and guidance for today. George Smith will lead our discussion.

March 22 — Ostara, Vernal Equinox, spring, Easter – Whatever we call these days and weeks, this season of rebirth and balance tends to hold special meaning for us. HAUUS member Sharon Saker will lead a discussion about the ritual, astrological happenings, myths and lore of this season of rebirth. Please bring an item for a spring alter such as flowers, eggs, bunnies, shells etc. that can be left to adorn our space throughout the season.

April 12— Beyond “Fracking” HAUUS guests today are Meg Krywe and Fred Sinclair from CCAC (Concerned Citizens of Allegany County). Meg and Fred are environmental activists and will provide important information we need to be aware of concerning the oil and gas industry in our area.

April 26— HAUUS Annual Meeting. Our annual meeting will include the election of officers, review of the past year and future planning. Your input is extremely important for future direction of our fellowship. A dish to pass luncheon will follow the meeting. Along with your dish to pass, please bring your own table service and beverage. Small microwave is available. There are limited electrical outlets for crock pots.
