September 13 –  Biological systems and the Equinox – A discussion of deer, pheasants, snowshoe hares and plants and how they react to the spring and fall equinox. Our program will be led outdoorsman and HAUUS member George Granger

September 27 — “A Quiet & Peaceable Life – The Amish, but their times, they are a “changing” Many Amish families have moved into our area recently. Program covers their value system and lifestyles both here and in Pennsylvania. Craig Braack, Allegany County Historian is our presenter.

October 11 — HAUUS member Bert Brown will lead our exploration into The Many Faces of Love. Synonyms for love, the different meanings and kinds of love will be included in the discussion.

October 25 — This Sunday we will discuss the Day of the Dead (October 31) and make a group Day of the Dead altar honoring anyone recently deceased. Please bring mementos, such as flowers (especially yellow), food, candles, feathers, masks, small objects, etc. as a way to commemorate the person(s) being honored. Cut tissue paper can also be used. Related holidays will be mentioned, and our feelings of this time of year can be discussed. HAUUS member Toni Moon will facilitate.

Please remember to bring canned and non-perishable food items to HAUUS for donation to various food pantries in the area.
