November 12Reformation Echoes for 21st Century Faith During 2017 many are celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.  With application of key principles, Martin Luther built the doorway out of a corrupt and boxed-in late medieval era and into the modern world of emergent freedom.  However, Luther did not walk through his own doorway.  That was left to others including ourselves.  As practitioners of 21st century UU faith, we are also in a corrupt era that is boxed-in by contemporary “fundamentalisms”.  What echoes of the early reformation principles could assist us to live out our multi-faith perspective in our own time? Tim Bancroft will facilitate this program.

November 26 – Prophetic Voice/Cultural Change:  There were times in our culture when we accepted such things as slavery, indentured servants, women as second class citizens, Jim Crow laws etc.  These practices were considered acceptable as part of our society.  It took prophetic voices to help bring about a change.  So what do we see today that will be considered nonacceptable in the future?  What prophets do we have that are trying to pull us into this better society?  George Smith will facilitate and suggests that we bring our own ideas of what will not be acceptable and suggest prophets for our own time.

December 10 — The program this week will be A Unitarian Christmas – by Rev. Steven Protzman.  “I think you will be surprised by what you learn.” says Bert Brown, who will present this talk and lead our discussion.
